Mario is the founder of Flores & Associates which was established in 1986 as a Human Resources Consulting entity specializing in employee selection, compensation and benefits analysis. Over the last seventeen years his leadership, guidance and progressive "outside the box" thinking has guided the firm to become a nationally recognized leader in the field of Flexible Spending, Health Reimbursement, COBRA and Direct Reimbursement Administration. Mario's professional background consists of 5 years with International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) in a management capacity with emphasis in the Human Resources and Benefits field. Prior to establishing Flores & Associates, Mario worked for a regional Human Resources consulting firm for 3 years. Mario is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Mario is primarily responsible for the design, introduction and implementation of key company services to ensure our position as the premier administrator of pre-tax benefit plans.

Darrell joined Flores & Associates in 1992 as the Director of Information Systems. Darrell is our "Oz behind the curtain" and is responsible for identifying and developing the technology necessary to meet the requirements of our clients and their employees. From conception, design, programming, testing to execution, Darrell has been instrumental in developing and implementing the technology necessary to make our services easier and more convenient. Darrell possesses a Bachelor of Arts degree and an Associates of Applied Science degree from Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, one of the premier technology oriented continuing education institutions in the nation. Darrell maintains membership in the Data Processing Management Association and took first prize in the 1992 DPMA Region 18 programming contest. In addition, Darrell is involved in various user groups and other functions that relate to computers and technology.

Clay serves Flores & Associates and our clients as a strategic, proactive leader with valuable experience in diverse roles driving continuous process improvement. Clay successfully translates strategy into efficient and profitable outcomes, instilling confidence in others, and delivering excellent customer relationship management. He is adept at delivering creative solutions with a sense of urgency; building effective teams, encouraging continuing education and solving critical business issues. After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1985, he later returned to graduate school and worked full-time to pay for his M.B.A. degree (Winthrop University, 1992) by serving as a researcher and recruiter for Flores & Associates. For over 25 years Clay has served in leadership roles in business administration, operations and sales for regional and national organizations. In October 2009, he rejoined Flores & Associates and is currently involved in quality assurance, business development and leading our COBRA 24/7 practice. Clay has earned his Group Benefit Associate, GBA and Certified in Flexible Compensation, CFC designations. Clay is active in Flores community service projects.

Renee joined Flores & Associates in 1998 as an Executive Assistant. Renee brings exceptional energy, a unique perspective and passion to her work and draws from her knowledge in the administration field to ensure Flores has correct internal balance to meet our stated business objective of "Client Centered Service". With 29 years of experience, she brings critical organizational and management skills to our day to day business operation. Her department is immensely critical in our "paperless processes" as she oversees the assignment and entry of all documentation received by the firm. Renee has a hand in everything from executive assistant to the firm's President to handling time sensitive data to assure high level of quality, consistency and satisfaction for the clients and employees we serve. She is active in her community and is truly the one that anyone affiliated with Flores can count on to get "things done".

Lisa has been employed with Flores & Associates as an Account Manager since 1998. She was elevated to Manager Client Services in early 2001. In addition to serving her own clients needs in the account manager role, Lisa provides much of the internal training and development for our newer staff and serves as an internal resource for questions and issues for the entire account management staff. Her training and development program for the staff has guided the firm to achieve Certified COBRA Administrator status. Lisa's strengths include Section 125 Plans, Flexible Spending Account Plans, Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRA) and COBRA administration. Lisa's background includes the areas of human resources recruiting, information technology consulting, and sales/project management. She is a 1997 graduate of Syracuse University with a Masters of Business Administration, concentrating in human resources. She currently holds the CFC designation from the Employers Council on Flexible Compensation. She remains actively involved in the benefits field through professional associations and she is currently pursuing a GBA, Group Benefits Associate Designation, through The International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Jeff Whittaker has been employed with Flores & Associates as an Account Manager since January 2007. In addition to serving his own clients' needs in the account manager role, he also assists our Vice President of Information Technology with file loading, implementing process improvements and monitoring our annual non-discrimination testing procedures. Jeff is a "Go-To" person within Flores, actively teaching the technical aspects of our business to newer account managers. Jeff leads the company Improvement Team fielding suggestions from departments and making recommendations to senior management. Jeff demonstrates a high level of understanding of Flores technology and business systems. He holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and MBA in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh. Jeff currently holds the CFC designation from the Employers Council on Flexible Compensation.

Kim joined Flores & Associates in 2007 after graduating from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She currently manages key accounts and plays an integral role in staff development and the management of client and participant communication materials. She was the recipient of the Flores & Associates 2010 Rising Star award in recognition of her outstanding dedication and commitment to service excellence. She is certified in Flexible Compensation by the Employers Council on Flexible Compensation and is currently pursuing a Group Benefit Administrator designation with the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. One of Kim's accounts recognized Flores in 2010 as their top vendor. Kim leads a team of account managers in a cross training effort that ensures complete service for clients and participants.

Kenneth has been employed with Flores & Associates as an Account Manager since March of 2006. Kenneth was elevated to a Team Leader Position with Flores in 2009, mentoring new account managers to stimulate growth and development within the account management staff. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kenneth combines a technical background with a personal touch to his clients. He brings a unique level of service to the firm - in addition to handling his own clients, he aids in the creation of client materials, conducts employee education meetings, and can troubleshoot and correct issues in an efficient manner. He currently holds the CFC designation from the Employers Council on Flexible Compensation. As an Eagle Scout, Kenneth enjoys the outdoors and remains an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America. Additionally he serves on the Board of Directors at Lofts Dilworth. Kenneth is currently the President of his homeowners association.

Margaret is dedicated to making sure each Flores & Associates client, as well as participant, receives outstanding service and assistance in each interaction. Margaret joined the company in 2005 and has extensive experience working with clients in a wide array of industries including health care, legal and accounting firms, retail, government, and manufacturing. Her areas of expertise include plan implementation, account management, auditing, and COBRA administration. She has and continues to help clients create and administer plans that both benefit the employee as well as the company. She graduated from James Madison University with a degree in business management and completed her MBA at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is a licensed Life and Health agent, holds SPHR and CFC designations and is currently pursuing her CEBS designation through The International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
